“some animals” is the third book in the Ancient Texts series by Eric Alstrom. The text is taken from Aristotle’s History of Animals (translated by D.W. Thompson), artistically arranged for the page to emphasize the similarities and celebrate the differences of the wide variety of species of all animals. The pages are layered with acrylic paints, laser printed text and images, Japanese paper collage and monoprint shapes. The book is bound in the drum leaf style with Cave Paper sides and spine and acrylic painted edges. Housed in a Cave Paper slipcase.


Bio

Eric has been involved with the book arts since 1989. He trained under James Craven in Ann Arbor and is now the Head of Conservation and Preservation at MSU. Eric teaches binding and book arts workshops and his artists books and fine bindings have been exhibited both nationally and internationally.
